Dr. Dixon brings 43 years patient care experience to Perry Medical Clinics.
He received an undergraduate degree from Pittsburg State University. After four years of study, Dr. Dixon received his medical degree from Kansas City University of Health Sciences. Subsequently, he completed post graduate studies in Family Practice at Phoenix General Hospital.
Dr. Dixon then began practice as a hospital based emergency physician for several years. He achieved certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and was additionally honored as a fellow of the board as well as earning lifetime certification from the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice.
After several years in the emergency department, he wanted to have long term follow-up and enjoy more of a relationship with his patients. He then began practicing primary care in the Decatur area.
Outside of his clinical duties, he was a mentor to medical students, interns, and residents as well as serving on various hospital boards.
On a personal note, Dr. Dixon is married with two adult children, a young grandson, and two dogs. He enjoys various outdoor activities including golf (lets face it, its pretty much all Golf) and he is an active volunteer at his church.
He has a very easy going attitude with decades of experience. If there is anything left of the “old fashioned Doctor”, he is it. He is a perfect balance to Dr. Perry’s sometimes over-enthusiasm and combined with each’s extreme depth of knowledge make for a formable team.
